STUDY VACATION CALENDAR
The study vacations last two weeks including travel, with 13 nights in Rimini according to the calendar below.
Schools, families, and individual participants can choose their preferred period from the six proposed; when registering, students can also choose to combine two consecutive periods.
If a school is interested in participating in the study vacations in Italy at another time of the year, it can make an explicit request, indicating the preferred dates.
Where
The study vacation is held in Rimini, a very welcoming historic seaside city full of life where “the Italian language is like the sand on the beach: soft, warm, and welcoming, capable of making us feel at home.” The study vacation in Rimini combines both the scholastic dimension and that of fun and everyday life in a harmonious, engaging way for students.

Rimini is in a strategic position for visiting places of art and culture, landscapes and territories full of charm, art and history, and traditions that are hospitable by their very nature.
How
The study vacation group participants stay in comfortable four-star hotels near the beach, so that after lessons they can also enjoy the seaside and all the scheduled events.
Students eat a hearty breakfast in the hotel every morning.
The hotel also provides a light packed lunch to be eaten at school or during day trips.
Dinner is at the hotel with typical Italian menus specially designed for the students to taste and learn about the variety of Italian food.
THREE SPECIAL DINNERS are planned in restaurants in Rimini to welcome them, mid-vacation, and for a pre-departure farewell.
Students
CLASS GROUP LEVEL
Each class group is homogeneous or heterogeneous in terms of language proficiency, depending on the students’ background.
ENTRY TEST
Students take a very short online entry test during registration to indicate their skill level (beginner – intermediate – advanced). Students are placed in homogeneous or heterogeneous groups by skill according to the number of students, with an appropriate syllabus.
CUSTOMIZED STUDY VACATION
The study vacations are also for those studying the Italian language and culture for the first time, allowing them to do so in a pleasant and comfortable learning context. Therefore, it is well-suited to all those who are interested in Italy and its culture even if they do not intend to study the language.
A customized study vacation for those who want to discover their true interest in learning about the Italian language and culture.
NUMBER OF STUDENTS
Each group consists of a maximum of 15 students led by a single teacher who is bilingually trained to meet all the specific education needs of the students outlined above.
TEACHING MATERIALS

Each group of 15 students is assigned a bilingual teacher and every three groups has a teacher specialized in the chosen subject area:
MUSIC AND PHOTOGRAPHY – ART – MOVIES AND THEATER – LITERATURE
A Group Leader works with the team of teachers, taking care of all the tour-related matters and entertainment, as well as being a reference point for all the students’ needs.
The teaching team is supervised and led by a Director.
STUDY VACATION CALENDAR
The teachers and the entire team use the table (below) for the two weeks of the study vacation, making any modifications and customizations they deem necessary according to each class group and the individual participants.
In general terms, however, this table is absolutely guiding and clarifies the development of the study vacation, which the teachers’ team naturally integrates with the specificity of the lessons and study paths.

The School in Rimini
The lessons are held in a highly prestigious building with historical value in Rimini: Palazzo Buonadrata.
The classrooms have appropriate equipment for the use of technology that allows video projections and online connections to the learning platforms offered.
The classrooms therefore combine aspects of modernity and topicality with those of an environmental setting that is an expression of the highest typically Italian cultural manifestation.
History
Palazzo Buonadrata is on Corso d’Augusto in the city’s historic center. Historical records of the Buonadrata family date back to the 1500s, and the first mention of the palace is found around 1600. Subsequent work was carried out during the 1700s and after the 1786 earthquake that partially destroyed the building, with the architect Giuseppe Achilli responsible for the reconstruction of the façade.
Over the centuries, the Palace has hosted various figures: the Queen of Naples (in 1735), Napoleon Bonaparte, Victor Emmanuel II and Giuseppe Garibaldi.
The building was also home to the Giulio Cesare Classical High School from 1931 to 1996, including its most famous alumni, the director Federico Fellini.
Syllabus
Our proposal differs from traditional study vacations in that, at the base of the linguistic-cultural objectives, the content and management of the organized time and spaces and the prospects for gaining knowledge and comparing habits, lifestyles, and history, it places the fundamental focus on the creation of a small community in which to have a brief but significant experience, not only in terms of language teaching and learning, of leisure and entertainment, but also in terms of growth and reflection through the essential sharing of an educational experience.
STUDY ACTIVITIES AND TEACHING MATERIALS
ITALIAN LANGUAGE AND CULTURE COURSES
The communicative Italian Language and Culture Course is developed through:
– PASSAPORTO PER L’ITALIA interactive video course with the prospect of also accompanying the students in the discovery of Italian culture, both of everyday life and that linked to the great artistic, literary, musical, and cinematographic events;
– More methodical, structured course articulated in a gradual progression of linguistic content at various skill levels, carried out in the ITALIANO SENZA FRONTIERE Google classroom entirely online, based on the composition of the group, the needs expressed, the homogeneous or heterogeneous class, and in relation to the linguistic abilities of the group.
FUN TEACHING MATERIALS
Study activities also supported by play-based learning materials. These materials for teaching/learning are aimed at supporting what is being learned, incorporating socialization, and creating cues for direct, live communication. Activities full of refined linguistic engagement and fun: ITALIAN CROSSWORD PUZZLES.
The game VIDEOGIOCANDO QUIZIT is a group activity using smartphones. It is an Italian communication game with about 8,000 quizzes of various kinds (audio, video, text) in a perspective of competition with oneself and one’s team. The quizzes use everyday, common language and are the basis for essential fast and dynamic communication.
RESEARCH AND CONSULTATION MATERIALS
The package of educational materials available also includes two items that can be consulted at any time for further study, curiosity, or according to specific requests. These useful materials are a wealth of resources and knowledge of Italian culture in its various facets.
UN ANNO ITALIANO in the form of a daily newspaper; there are five newspaper pages for every day of the year, whose events are linked to the specific date in question.
EVERYWHEREINITALIA: geographic-territorial material organized according to a hyper-textual and interactive route. The project includes the presentation of the region in general, its economy and history, and each of its most important cities.
Activities
Students are mostly given a choice of activities in the afternoon hours, all particularly engaging and interesting:
- PHOTOGRAPHY, PAINTING, POETRY, OR SINGING COMPETITION
- MUSICAL AUDITION
- COOKING WORKSHOP: a meaningful, aggregating, and characteristic experiential moment of Italian-ness.
Consultation in the library of books and journals to consolidate the spirit of research that contributes to increasing knowledge of Italy in its varied and multiple manifestations and expressions.
Leisure
Leisure activities are particularly favored by the area where the summer school is located.
Free and organized time for seaside life with:
- BEACH VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT
- STROLLS IN THE CITY
Individual leisure and entertainment choices coordinated by the group leader:
- TRIP TO AQUAFAN IN RICCIONE
- TOUR ROME ON A SIGHTSEEING BUS
Opportunities
Returning to Italy for another study vacation.
Choose an Italian university to pursue your studies.
The TILI study vacation is proposed and developed on three linguistic-cultural levels: students will therefore be able to return for at least three years, sure of being able to continue the course and find the same educational climate and environment. It becomes something to look forward to, a destination and a starting point for the following school year in educational continuity with the same school.
Particular care and attention is also given to the opportunity to study at university in Italy through a meeting specifically for presenting the Italian school system and the choices offered by our universities.
The study vacation can thus also offer an orientation and choice in studies.
